Blink Release Notes — 15 July 2026

Prev

Here's what's new and fixed in the latest Blink platform release.

Payments & Checkout

Google Pay on payment pages fixed. Google Pay payments were being blocked by form checks intended for card payments. Wallet payments (Google Pay and Apple Pay) now validate only the details they actually need, and any error messages appear inline on the form with clearer wording — no more pop-ups.

Smoother 3D Secure authentication. Customers returning from their bank's authentication step no longer see an error if their browser session was lost along the way — the payment now continues normally.

Clearer card detail validation. Payment forms now prevent submission when the card number, expiry date or CVV is missing, and tell the customer exactly which field needs completing. This reduces avoidable declines from incomplete card details.

Currency handling corrected. Payments can no longer be taken in a currency that isn't enabled on your Blink page — an unsupported currency is now clearly rejected instead of being processed. Currency dropdowns show both the symbol and ISO code (helpful where currencies share a symbol), a currency is only requested for transaction types where it applies, and unavailable currencies are never selected automatically.

Card verification via the Paylink API. Verification-only requests (transaction type VERIFY) now work correctly and no longer require an amount. The legacy VERIFY CARD format continues to be accepted for existing integrations.

Payment Links

Contact details checked before sending. The Send Paylink button now stays disabled until an email address or mobile number has been entered, and updates as you fill in the form — so links can't be sent without a way to reach the customer. You can still generate a link first and add contact details when sending.

Reminders follow your settings. Payment link reminders now keep the start date and reminder frequency you chose — previously the first reminder could arrive on the wrong day or the frequency could reset. Reminders are also only switched on when you explicitly select them.

Special characters display correctly. Payment link descriptions containing apostrophes, quotation marks and other special characters are now retained and shown correctly on payment pages and receipt emails.

Filter payment link history by user. Payment link history can now be filtered by the account user who created the link, including the account owner — previously this filter returned incorrect results.

Blink Pages

QR codes generate reliably. An issue that could cause a broken image or an error when generating a Blink Page QR code has been fixed. The QR code button is also back when editing a page, and QR codes now carry the updated Blink branding.

Repeat Payments

Easier repeat payment links. Repeat payment links no longer incorrectly require a payment method to be selected before sending, and the repeat payment option is now available to merchants using Stripe.

You're notified of cancellations. You now receive an email when a repeat payment schedule is cancelled — fixed and variable schedules alike — alongside the existing customer notification.

Stripe & Refunds

Stripe refund status corrected. Successful Stripe refunds could occasionally be shown as failed. Refunds now report their true status, partial refund amounts are tracked accurately, and refund receipt emails display correctly.

Refund amounts protected. Refunds on card-present transactions are now capped at the remaining refundable amount, with the transaction's currency shown clearly when confirming — preventing accidental over-refunds. Refund processing has also been made more reliable behind the scenes.

Reporting & Account Management

Filter by accepted date. Delay-capture and pre-auth card transactions can now be filtered by the date they were accepted, from the advanced transaction filters.

Search by reference. Card transactions can now be searched by payment reference — handy when a customer query gives you a reference rather than card or email details. The same filter applies to exports.

Faster, clearer transaction views. Failed card-present transactions now show in red so they're easy to spot, and the separate Capture / Refund / Reverse buttons have been consolidated into a single tidy Action menu with refreshed dialogs.

Transaction history and archives. Reports cover the most recent 13 months of transaction data. Need older records? The date picker now explains how to request archived data.

Terminal IDs always visible. Terminal IDs now display consistently on the account details page.

Accounting Integrations

Sage bank feed connections fixed. An error that could interrupt connecting a Sage bank feed has been resolved — connected accounts are now discovered and linked as expected.

Faster payment processing. Accounting sync no longer runs inline during payment processing, keeping checkout snappy.

Security & Reliability

This release also includes a set of security and reliability improvements: updated third-party libraries used by payment forms, strengthened handling of user-entered content on payment links and pages, corrected wording across payment emails, and more resilient background syncing with our integration partners.

Also released earlier this month

  • Repeat payment start dates — schedules now start on the correct date instead of being anchored to the date the link was sent.
  • Connecting an existing Stripe account — the Stripe settings panel no longer goes blank when choosing to connect an existing account.
  • Dashboard Today & Yesterday views — dashboard reporting now offers Today and Yesterday views with hourly breakdowns, and revenue figures separate sales from refunds more accurately.
