Recent Blink Payment platform release notes

New features

Paste into amount fields now supported

You can now paste numbers directly into the amount field on the Take a payment and Request a payment pages. Previously, this field blocked pasted input. Do note that it accepts numerical values only.

Enhancements

Refund popup no longer pre-fills amount

The amount field will now be blank by default when refunding a transaction, you’ll need to enter the value manually. This prevents accidental full refunds and gives you more control. If a partial refund has already been issued, the original transaction will still show the refunded amount and a “partially refunded” status on the page.

API transactions page removed from platform

The API transactions page has been removed from the platform. It offered less functionality than the Blink card transactions page, where all API transactions are already available. This makes the platform more straightforward and easier to navigate.

Bug fixes

Missing 2FA settings now visible for all accounts
Some BETA accounts weren’t seeing the toggle or enable button for two-factor authentication (2FA), even though the feature was marked as live. These controls now show correctly for all users.

Requested Payments status now matches transaction outcome
We’ve fixed a mismatch between the Requested Payments view and the Blink card transactions status. If a customer made multiple attempts and one succeeded, the final status now shows accurately across all pages, including the view transactions popup.

Filtered exports now include all transaction types
After filtering the Blink Card Transaction page by "VT" or "API" methods, exporting data returned empty CSVs. These are now included in your exports if selected.

Repeat payments now use the correct system for MPRN transactions
Using the Repeat button on a transaction with a description like “MPRN:…” was incorrectly creating a schedule in the legacy repeat payment system, even when the new system was enabled for the account. This now correctly uses the new repeat payment system.
