New feature

Credit payments now available via paylinks

You can now issue credit transactions via paylinks, the Virtual Terminal and API. Credit payments let you send funds to a customer without tying it to a previous transaction or specific card.
This feature is only available on request due to the security risks. If you’d like access, please email support@blinkpayment.co.uk. We’ll enable it for the account’s lead owner, who can then switch it on for other users.
This has been available for Virtual Terminal users for some time, but is now supported on paylinks too. [View the credit transaction user guide]

Updates

Faster schedule loading on Manage Repeat Payments

Opening a specific schedule now loads faster and opens in a new page, instead of a pop-up.

Clearer status for abandoned card transactions

If an E-COM card transaction stays in “received” for more than 30 minutes without completing 3DS, it will now show as Abandoned in red. Hover to see an explanation that the transaction was left incomplete and no funds were reserved.

This update applies to:

  • Recent Blink Transactions
  • Blink Card Transactions
  • CSV exports

Improved AVS/CV2 error messages

We now show enhanced decline reasons where available, such as “CV2 not matched” or “Postcode partially matched:

These appear on:

  • Decline messages shown on Paylink and Blink pages
  • Virtual Terminal decline messages
  • Transaction details on Recent Blink Transactions and Blink Card Transactions pages

Bug fixes

Apple Pay no longer bypasses required custom fields
Customers can no longer use Apple Pay to skip over custom fields marked as required. These now apply correctly to all payment methods.

“View transactions” button now retained on expired links
Fixes an issue where this button disappeared after a paylink expired, even if there were past attempts.

Repeat payment creation no longer returns “Missing cardnumber”
Repeat payment creation no longer returns “Missing Cardnumber” when creating a repeat payment schedule from an existing transaction.
