# Navigating Sandbox accounts

Sandbox accounts provide a risk-free environment for testing Blink’s API integration with your applications. These accounts simulate real-world conditions, allowing you to explore the API’s features and validate your payment workflows before going live. You can request access to a sandbox account by signing up [here](https://www.blinkpayment.co.uk/developer-signup).

By default, sandbox accounts come pre-configured for card payments. If you wish to test Direct Debit transactions, you can do so by connecting to a GoCardless sandbox account through our platform. Currently, only GBP transactions are supported within the sandbox environment, but additional currencies can be enabled upon request.

## Key Features

- **Card Payments**: Fully functional out-of-the-box for testing.
- **Direct Debit Support**: Available by linking a GoCardless sandbox account.
- **Open Banking:** Fully functioning Open Banking simulator that mimics real-life bank payment flows.
- **Currency Support**: GBP is the default currency, with other currencies available on request.

## Limitations

- **Google Pay and Apple Pay**: These may not function within the sandbox environment.
