04-08-2026

This release includes several improvements relevant to merchants and partners using the Blink API.

Digital Wallets

Apple Pay available on supported Windows devices

Apple Pay can now be offered on supported Windows desktop devices through a QR-code flow.

The customer scans the QR code with an iPhone and completes the Apple Pay payment securely on their device.

This is relevant to API merchants using Blink-hosted payment experiences, because it expands Apple Pay availability beyond Apple desktop devices without requiring changes to the payment flow.

Pre-authorisation and Accounting

API pre-authorisations are no longer sent to Xero as completed sales

Pre-authorisation transactions created through the Blink API are no longer pushed to Xero before they have been captured.

This prevents incomplete transactions from appearing as completed sales in connected accounting records.

Payment Links

Fixed Payment Link amounts are protected

Fixed-amount Payment Links now always use the amount originally configured when the link was created.

This prevents the payment amount being changed through the customer’s browser, including for Payment Links created through an integration.

More reliable payment status reconciliation

Payment Link status reconciliation is now more resilient when a temporary processing or notification issue occurs.

Failed reconciliation attempts can be retried in the background, helping successful payments reach the correct final status.

Capture Notifications

More reliable capture notifications

Capture notifications now resolve the correct merchant payment settings more consistently.

This reduces the risk of capture-related notifications failing because the wrong merchant configuration was selected.

Currency Handling

Australian dollar processing improved

Australian dollar currency identifiers are now normalised more consistently across payment and page creation flows.

This reduces the risk of AUD transactions or Payment Links being stored or displayed with an incorrect currency.

Card-Present API

Decline reasons are now available more consistently

Card-present transaction details now expose the decline reason where one is available.

This gives API merchants clearer information about why a transaction failed and can improve support and reconciliation workflows.

More consistent transaction statuses

Card-present transactions now use the stored transaction status more consistently across the V2 platform and related processing.

This reduces discrepancies between the API transaction state and the status shown in Blink.

Clearer live and sandbox separation

Live and sandbox card-present transactions are now separated more reliably.

This helps API merchants distinguish test activity from live payment data when reviewing or reconciling transactions.

Improved merchant reference handling

Merchant references are now retained and matched more reliably for card-present transactions.

This makes it easier to reconcile settlements back to the original transaction and reduces the risk of duplicate transaction records.
